Julia Fiedorczuk

Julia Fiedorczuk (born February 23, 1975 in Warsaw ) is a Polish writer and translator.

Life

Fiedorczuk studied literature and works as a research assistant for American literature and literary theory at the University of Warsaw . She has published on the American poet Laura Riding (1901–1991) and has also worked on the poets Wallace Stevens , John Ashbery and Yusef Komunyakaa .

Her poems have been translated into English, Portuguese and Slovenian. In 2002 she was awarded the Polish Publisher Prize for the best debut. In Germany she received the Hubert Burda Prize for Young Eastern European Poetry in 2005 .
