Costume design for Gianetta (The Gondoliers)

A figurine (also called model sheet or character design ) is a drawn or modeled costume or fashion design. Figurines are used in costume design for theater or film productions and in fashion design .

In comics and cartoons , figurines serve as binding templates for all subsequent drawings of a particular figure. Completely worked out, often colored sample drawings of frequently recurring figures are made in advance. They guarantee that the figures, which are often drawn by several artists, always have the same appearance.
