Filby (Norfolk)

Filby is a village in the English county of Norfolk . The name is derived from Danish Vikings who settled there around 800. The village lies on the banks of Filby Broad and Ormesby Little Broad, which are lakes that are part of the Broads National Park . Cities in the vicinity of Filby are Great Yarmouth , which is 9 km southeast and Norwich 25 km west. Filby consists of only a few houses, in which a total of 740 people live, but offers wonderful landscapes. Filby is in Great Yarmouth's administrative district. The village also received an award in its category in the Britain in Bloom competition.
