FilesTube was a meta search engine founded in 2007 that indexed files from various file sharing and file hosting platforms . FilesTube made it possible to find a wide variety of copyrighted files.
The FilesTube site also had a section for videos, computer games, lyrics and software. The owner was the Polish company Red-Sky .
Name and logo
The name and logo of the website are stylistically similar to those of the video platform YouTube . While the old logo looked almost like the YouTube logo (the word part “Files” replaced the “You” and the logo was colored blue instead of red), slight changes have been made for the current logo.

Times Free Press's Donnie Jenkins described the site as "a search engine designed to find downloadable files such as videos, audios and documents."
Copyright Infringement and Blocking
FilesTube deleted copyrighted content from its search results upon request ( DMCA Takedown Notice). Still, the site is blocked due to court decisions and government actions in various countries:
- Malaysia in June 2011
- The United Kingdom in October 2013
End of the search function
On December 1, 2014, FilesTube stopped its search function. Now the domain redirects to a portal for free and legal downloads of independent films and series.
