The Harland branch church is located at Salcherstraße 43 in the Harland district in the municipality of St. Pölten in Lower Austria . The church, built in 1966, was handed over to the Romanian Orthodox community in 2018 .

history

The branch church of the Stattersdorf parish church was built in 1966 according to the plans of the architect Johann Kräftner senior. The Roman Catholic branch church , consecrated to the Pax Christi , belonged to the deanery of St. Pölten in the diocese of St. Pölten until 2018 . On July 3, 2018, the church was handed over to the Archbishop of Metropolitan Serafim Joantă .

The small church building under a flat roof has a free-standing bell tower.

The east-facing basilica building under flat roofs has an open pillar corridor on the north side. The western front is clad with clinker tiles and has a high steel cross.

The interior of the church shows a sober hall under a flat wooden ceiling with continuous window panels on both sides and a straight end to the choir. On the south side there is a lower aisle, delimited by pillars.

The window panels with stained glass and the stations of the cross in abstract forms were created according to designs by the artist Robert Herfert .
