Filial Church of St. Alter

The branch church of St.'Andrä in the district of the same name in Villach belongs to the parish of Maria Landskron . The church, first mentioned in 1664, was destroyed in a fire in 1826. The successor building was consecrated in 1861.

The small neo-Gothic Church in the dimension of Prebyteriumgewölbes obtained has a western ridge turret with a pointed helmet and an open west porch. The facade is structured by corner pilasters and a pointed arch frieze. You enter the church through a pointed arched portal. The simple tracery windows were partly renewed. A burr cross vault rests on consoles above the one-bay nave and the choir with a five - eighth end. The simple neo-Gothic altar with St. Andrew on the altar sheet was probably created by Johann Zernatto in 1861. The coat of arms grave plate of the keeper of Landskron Castle Andreas Luv, who died in 1650, is attached to the outer wall . The war memorial west of the church consists of a figure frieze over a pillar and a cross above. The monument is labeled "Beres 1932".
