The Roman Catholic parish church Maria Landskron is located in Landskron in the municipality of Villach in Carinthia . The parish church Herz Mariä belongs to the deanery Villach-Stadt in the diocese Gurk-Klagenfurt . The church is a listed building .

history

The original seat of the parish was St. Ruprecht am Moos . From 1955 to 1969 the new parish center was built in Landskron and in 1956 the parish seat was moved here.

The church as a modern building according to the plans of the architect Herzung and master builder Klemens Klinger was built in 1967 and consecrated in the same year.

In 1984 the parish was renamed from St. Ruprecht am Moos to Maria Landskron .

architecture

The large north-facing hall building as a concrete frame structure has a tower in the southwest. In 1998 Daniel Moser created the window panes, which were greatly reduced in terms of their design, the window with the motif of Maria Untying the Knot is remarkable .

Furnishing

The chancel was designed with the architect Alfons Nessmann . The figures of a Romanesque Christ from the 12th century and a Gothic Archangel Michael come from the subsidiary church of St. Michael .
