Landskron is a district of Villach in Carinthia , Austria . The place is known for the Landskron castle (named "the crown of the country"), which sits enthroned above the place on a foothill of the Ossiacher Tauern .

history

Landskron was mentioned in a document in the early Middle Ages as a small village below Landskron Castle . The place developed relatively quickly into a larger village. The Adlerarena and the Affenberg are located at the eponymous Landskron Castle .
