Wim branch church
The Roman Catholic branch church in Wim is in the district of the municipality Wim Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting in Wels-Land district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to St. Thomas of Canterbury and belongs to the parish Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting in the deanery of Gmunden in the diocese of Linz . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The church in the Wim was mentioned as early as 1220.
architecture
The originally Gothic building was expanded in 1893, creating a long rectangular church with a slightly drawn-in choir closed in a basket-arched curve. The church with a chapel and tower in the southern choir corner houses a high altar from around 1700 with an altarpiece of St. Thomas of Canterbury from 1837.
