The district of Wels-Land is a political district of the state of Upper Austria .
It forms the area around the city of Wels .
history
The Wels district was created in 1868. With the creation of the Eferding district in 1907, the district court districts Eferding and Waizenkirchen came to the new district. In 1964 Wels was given its own statute , the remaining district was therefore renamed Wels-Land.
Administrative division
The Wels-Land district is divided into 24 municipalities , including one town and ten market communities . The population figures are from January 1st, 2020.
