Filiberto Navas
Filiberto Navas Valdez ( 1892 - 1988 ) was a Mexican athlete who practiced wrestling , boxing , weight lifting , gymnastics , swimming and soccer . The latter sport was practiced by Navas in the pioneering years of Club Deportivo Toluca , of which he was one of the founding members. He was also an important sports teacher who shaped several generations of athletes in Mexico. The sports unit Unidad Deportiva Filiberto Navas in Toluca , which belongs to the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEM), bears his name.
