Financial Mail

The Financial Mail is a weekly newspaper in South Africa , one of the leading English-language financial and business magazines in the country. It is published nationwide with a circulation of around 30,000 copies and has around 215,000 readers (data for 2008). The editorial office is located in Johannesburg .

The main target group are so-called decision-makers in the private sector and public administration . The first edition appeared on March 6, 1959, and the Financial Times , published in Great Britain , contributed 50 percent and the SA Associated Newspapers (SAAN) contributed 40 percent. In the mid-1970s, SAAN also took over the shares in the Financial Times. The current publisher has been BDFM Publishers (Pty) Ltd since 1997 .
