The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF) are the largest public art institution in the city of San Francisco and are among the most important museums in California . These include the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park and the MH de Young Memorial Museum in Golden Gate Park .

The British Thomas P. Campbell (* 1962 in Singapore) has headed the museums as director and executive board member since November 1, 2018 . He succeeded Max Hollein , who had become director of the Metropolitan Museum in August 2018 .
