history

In the autumn of 1806 Swedish troops, including Finns serving in the Swedish army, were billeted on Rügen after fighting in the Fourth Coalition War against French troops. In the winter of 1806/1807, Finnish soldiers of the Swedish army lived with the forest keeper and forester in the Granitz in Dolge farm . They often bought food and clothes from the local population without being asked. Even cows are said to have been stolen from the barn and slaughtered. After a while the troops withdrew. However, a Finn fell ill on the trigger and returned. He died in Dolge. Near the courtyard, the soldier was buried on a bundle of straw as a base, then wrapped in linen sheets; there was no coffin in the village. His head was placed on some shrubbery.
