The Fischerjungen-Brunnen is located on Stiftsplatz by the St. Lambertus Church in Düsseldorf's old town .

history

On the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the city of Düsseldorf, the Heimatverein Düsseldorfer Jonges commissioned the fountain. The fountain created by the sculptor Willi Hoselmann was unveiled on August 16, 1938. It shows a fisher boy and water-spouting fish at the well shaft. In 1948 and 1954 the figure was destroyed and later reconstructed. The following inscription can be read on the fountain:

"TO REMEMBER THE 650 ANNIVERSARY OF THE CITY OF DÜSSELDORF / ERECTED BY THE HEIMATVEREIN DÜSSELDORFER JONGES EV / AUGUST 16, 1938"
