The Fitzpatrick Rock is a small, low and icy rock island in the archipelago of the Windmill Islands off the Budd coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It is located 800 m northwest of Kilby Island in the entrance to Newcomb Bay .
The crew of the icebreaker USS Glacier first mapped it in February 1957. At the suggestion of the navigator Robert Carl Newcomb (1926-2008), the island was named after boatswain's mate John Fitzpatrick, who was involved in the mapping and surveying work.
