Flag of the Republic of Tuva
The flag of Tuva is the official flag of the Tuvan and the Autonomous Republic of Tuva in Russia .
The description and meaning of the Tuvan flag were adopted in 1918. The flag contains the colors blue, yellow and white.
The colors mean the following:
- Blue stands for the courage and strength of the nomadic ancestors and the Tuvan people.
- Yellow symbolizes prosperity and Buddhism.
- White for purity.
The stripes represent the confluence of the rivers Bi-Chem and Kao-Chem at Kysyl , in which they form the Ulug-Chem ( Jenissei ). Note: The current flag was officially adopted on September 17, 1992 in the proportions 1: 2. Three days later she was blessed by the Dalai Lama during his state visit to Tuva.
