Flank grip

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The flank grip (also known as the knee grip ) is a veterinary examination method for checking the tolerance reflex in sows . There are two methods for the examination: either the examiner stands behind the sow and grabs the knee crease with both hands and pulls it upwards, or the examiner pushes one knee sideways into the flank . A sow that is ready to mate tolerates these manipulations. The result is secured with the support and riding test .
