FlashPaper

FlashPaper is a conversion program developed by Macromedia with which SWF or PDF files can be created using the print dialog of any software .

The SWF files created with FlashPaper are in the same format as SWF files created with Flash . FlashPaper SWF files are often significantly smaller than other types of documents and can be viewed on different platforms in any browser that supports Flash or directly in Flash Player . The formatting, graphics, fonts, special characters and colors of the source document are retained on all platforms, regardless of the platform on which the document was created.

Like PDF, the format is suitable for viewing documents from other applications. It is easy to generate a kind of electronic newspaper based on a SWF file .

On August 21, 2008, Adobe announced that it would no longer develop FlashPaper.

Alternatives that also output SWF (Flash files) under Windows Vista include: B. the free SWF Printer PRO from ByteScout and the commercial Print2Flash from Blue Pacific Software, the original developer of FlashPaper.
