Flat Eric is a yellow bear-like doll with long arms and legs that was built by Jim Henson's Creature Shop (including Muppets , Fraggles ) for commercials for the American jeans brand Levi's .

The French musician and filmmaker Quentin Dupieux aka Mr. Oizo had the idea for the character and the accompanying title Flat Beat , which was in the top ten of the charts in Europe in 1999 . In Germany, the single reached number one in the charts and stayed in the top ten for eleven weeks. In the music video for Flat Beat , Flat Eric can be seen in the executive chair of an office, among other things while “smoking” a sausage. In the commercials, he is out and about in California with his driver, Angel .

From 2001 to 2003 the doll appeared repeatedly in the British comedy series The Office ; In 2004 she was seen in a TV commercial for a British automobile magazine with David Soul .

His new album Flat Erics came out on June 24th, 2011, almost exactly twelve years after his first track.
