Bat (coin)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bat or Groeschel was a Bohemian and a Silesian coin . In Bohemia this was a copper coin , in Silesia a silver coin. The mocking of an eagle on one side of the coin led to this derisive designation. Four groschen were an imperial groschen and 120 were counted on the Reichstaler . The value for the Silesian Groeschel was 2 2/3 pfennigs .
