Fleet Marine Force Badge
Corporal service badge of the US Navy, for sailors who serve in the FMF.

The Fleet Marine Force ( FMF ) is the mixed command of the US Navy and the US Marine Corps , which consists of personnel permanently stationed on ships, ground personnel and mixed infantry units of the US Marine Corps. In addition, the units are supplemented by paramedics from the US Navy (" Hospital Corpsman "), as is common practice at the USMC. The following major associations of the US Marine Corps belong to the FMF: I. Marine Expeditionary Force , II. Marine Expeditionary Force and III. Marine Expeditionary Force .

The Fleet Marine Force is the primary organizational structure in which U.S. Navy personnel serve directly under the command of U.S. Marines. These Navy personnel serve in US Marine Corps uniforms but with US Navy badges. Likewise, they must meet all of the physical requirements placed on the US Marines with which they serve.

The Department of the Navy awards the Fleet Marine Force Ribbon and the Fleet Marine Force Badge for service in the Fleet Marine Force . Fleet Marine Force personnel who have participated in combat operations are entitled to wear combat decorations. To be allowed to wear the FMF service badge, a seaman must have served at least twelve months as a member of an FMF unit and also have participated in field operations. Before the badge is awarded, qualifications must be achieved in various areas, such as the history of the US Marine Corps, knowledge of the weapon systems, tactics, aircraft or vehicles used by the FMF.

Hospital Corpsmen and Religious Program Specialists (RP) are the uses most recognized for this badge. Personnel who have received the badge are entitled to indicate this in their service title, for example “Hospital Corpsman First Class (Fleet Marine Force)” (“HM1 (FMF)”).
