The Fleinøya ( roughly translated from Norwegian blank island ) is a small island off the Prince Harald coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the southeastern part of the Lützow-Holm Bay , it is 600 m north of the Berrodden headland .
Norwegian cartographers mapped them as two islands based on aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 and named the larger of them. Scientists on a Japanese Antarctic expedition (1957–1962) identified only one island in the position given by the Norwegians and transferred the Norwegian name to it.
