Flight Duty Regulations

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Flight Duty Regulations ( dt. Working time regulations for aircraft crews , FDR ) are a set of rules that define the maximum permissible working time of aircraft crew members per unit of time. The FDR are negotiated by the professional association and the airline , similar to a collective employment contract .

In the case of Swissair - Groundings center had 2001 many flight crews for hours in their actually start preparing aircraft on a flight permission from their airline wait. The airline was illiquid at this point and was unable to pay the fuel bills. The waiting times would have meant that the times regulated in the FDR would have been exceeded during the subsequent flight. As a result, Swissair's flight operations had to be stopped completely on October 2, 2001 at 3:45 p.m.
