The Flint City Bucks (formerly Michigan Bucks ) are an American football - Franchise of the USL League Two from Flint , Michigan .
The team, founded in 1995, plays in the Great Lakes Division of the Central Conference of the USL League Two. The Bucks are considered to be one of the most successful soccer teams in the USA's minor leagues.
history
Founded in 1995 as Mid Michigan Bucks, the team played in 1996 in the USISL Premier League, the forerunner of today's Premier Development League. In the very first season they secured third place in the Central Northern Conference and thus qualified for the subsequent play-offs (Premier Six). There you had to give up, however, to the San Francisco Bay Seals and the eventual winner Central Coast Roadrunners. In 1997 the Bucks won the title in the North Central Conference of the USISL PDSL and reached the semi-finals in the play-offs.
The team has been playing in the USL Premier Development League since the 1999 season and has always been able to secure one of the top places in the regular season. In 2006, the team won the play-offs for the first time and repeated it again in 2014.
In 2000 the Bucks won the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup as the first PDL team against a team from Major League Soccer . New England Revolution could be defeated here. In 2012, the Bucks won in the third round against the Chicago Fire .
