Flinzschiefer plaice

The Flinzschiefer Scholle is a geological rock formation on the southern edge of the Uellendahl-Katernberg district of Wuppertal in the Nevigeser Straße residential area . The Flinz slate plaice is located on the northern side of August-Bebel-Straße, west of the main fire station (fire and rescue station 1) in the Unterer Dorrenberg corridor . The rock was from the city of Wuppertal on 16 December 2008 by Regulation as a natural monument gem. According to § 22 a LG NRW as "clearly visible Flinzschieferscholle with special folds" due to scientific, natural history, geographical or geological reasons. The rock formation belongs to the natural spatial unit of the Haßlinghauser Ridge , this mountain range is also known regionally as the "Wuppertaler Nordhöhen".
