Flora Ugwunwa

Flora Ugwunwa (* 26. June 1984 in Onitsha , Nigeria) is a Nigerian Paralympics - athlete .

Life

Flora Ugwunwa has paraplegia as a result of the effects of polio and has participated in the F54 classification competitions in the javelin discipline. She represented Nigeria at the 2016 Summer Paralympics and won the gold medal in the women's javelin in the F54. She set a new world record of 20.25 m in this competition.

She qualified to represent Nigeria at the 2020 Summer Paralympics after winning the silver medal in the women's javelin throw F54 with a distance of 18.38 meters at the 2019 World Championships in Athletics for the Disabled in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
