The Flores long-nosed rat ( Paulamys naso ) is a rodent from the group of old world mice (Murinae).

These rodents reach a head body length of around 16 centimeters, plus a tail that is around 12 centimeters long. The weight is 120 grams. Their fur is olive-brown on the top and light gray on the underside, the skull is elongated.

Flores long-nosed rats only live on the Indonesian island of Flores , where they inhabit mountainous forests up to 2000 meters above sea level. They usually stay on the ground and eat insects, worms and plant material.

The species was described in 1981 on the basis of subfossil remains, and a living animal was not found until 1991. The habitat destruction is the main threat to the Flores-long nose rat IUCN lists them as "high risk" ( endangered ).
