Florian Hermann

Florian Hermann (other spellings: Florian Herman, Florian German, Florjan Herman) (* 1822 ; † 1892 in Vilnius , Russian Empire ) was a composer of German-Polish origin.

Works (selection)

His oeuvre is documented by the A. Gutheil music publisher, which merged into Éditions Russes de Musique. The earliest records of his musical works can be found at the A. Büttner music publisher in St. Petersburg, which merged with the D. Rahter publishing house in Hamburg in 1879 . Herman's active creative period as a composer ranged from about 1870 to the 1890s. Hermann's best-known compositions include "Hommage Valse, Op.21", which achieved world fame through the song Black Eyes , and "Rêverie russe, Op. 2 ”.
