Florian Wiek

Florian Wiek (* 1972 ) is a German pianist .

He studied with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Günter Ludwig at the Musikhochschule Köln and the Paris Conservatory and with Volker Banfield at the Hamburg Musikhochschule .

In 1999 Wiek received first prize at the Concurs Internacional de Música Maria Canals Barcelona and a prize at the German Music Competition . He has given concerts in the Berlin Philharmonic , the Cologne Philharmonic and the Hamburg Music Hall and has appeared at numerous festivals.

Florian Wiek has been Professor of Piano and Piano Chamber Music at the Stuttgart University of Music since October 2004 . One focus of his repertoire is the music of the Viennese classic .
