The Bujumbura International Airport ( fr. : Aéroport International de Bujumbura ) is an international commercial airport in the East African landlocked country Burundi . The airport is about eleven kilometers outside the city of Bujumbura . In 2004 about 85,000 passengers were registered. The Burundi government operates the airport.

General

The airport has a runway with a length of 3600 meters, from which an approach using the instrument landing system is possible. The airport has enough capacity for a Boeing 747 . A taxi service offers travelers the option of transportation to Bujumbura.

Mainly African airlines are stationed at the airport. B. to cities like Kigali , Nairobi or Addis Ababa . Brussels is the only European destination offered by an airline in Bujumbura. Brussels Airlines operates this flight.
