The Rosh Pina Airport ( IATA code RPN , ICAO code LLIB , including airport Ben Ya'akov , occasionally Mahanayim Airfield named because of its proximity to Mahanaim ) is a small commercial and military airfield in the Israeli Rosh Pina . It is operated by the Israel Airport Authority. In addition to military use, the airport handles some domestic flights.

The airport near Mahanaim was built between 1943 and 1945 as a British military airfield during the Second World War. After the establishment of Israel, the airport was handed over to the Israeli military . The airport was first used for civil use in the 1950s, when Arkia began operating flights to Rosh Pina. While provisional passenger facilities were initially used, the airport has a real passenger building from 1968. In 1971 a control tower and a fire station at the airport were inaugurated . Due to the increasing number of passengers and the first signs of wear and tear at the terminal, it was modernized and expanded in 1994. Since the 1990s, however, there has been a steady downward trend in passenger numbers. While 168,915 passengers were welcomed at the airport in 1999, this number fell to almost 20,000 in 2008.

Arkia currently flies regularly to Tel Aviv and occasionally chartered to Eilat and other destinations.
