Dedelstorf airfield

The former Dedelstorf airfield was a military airfield near Dedelstorf in the Gifhorn district in Lower Saxony during the Third Reich and in the post-war period .

history

Dedelstorf became a garrison town for the first time in 1936 and was given an air base .

After the end of the Second World War, the British Air Force of Occupation continued to use the area that the Allies referred to as Airfield B.155 for a short time. In the summer of 1945 Tempest V fighter bombers of the 135th Wing (squadron) were lying here . The Bundeswehr no longer used the airfield.
