Fly ( English for flying is) a song by the American Country duos Maddie & Tae from the 2015 released album Start Here . It was released as their second single in January 2015. The song was written by the members of the duo together with Tiffany Vartanyan, and produced by Aaron Scherz together with Dann Huff .

Composition and content

Compared to their first single, Girl in a Country Song , Fly is calmer and more melodic. It's not a traditional country song, but still clearly perceptible as such. The accompanying music is dominated by the banjo and violin.

In terms of content, Fly is an inspiring song. It's about making your dreams come true and not letting difficulties along the way stop you.

“So keep on climbing, though the ground might shake
Just keep on reaching though the limb might break
We've come this far, don't you be scared now
Cause you can learn to fly on the way down”

"Don't stop climbing even though the ground is shaking
Don't stop striving up even though the branch might break
We have come this far, don't be afraid now
Because you can learn to fly on the way down"

- Maddie & Tae : Refrain of the song Fly

Video

The accompanying music video was released on February 22, 2015. The two had their first major live appearance with the song on the Tonight Show .
