Folimage is an animation studio in Valence based in southern France , under the direction of Jacques-Rémy Girerd .

history

The studio was founded in 1984 and specialized in classic animation techniques such as animation and stop motion .

Folimage produced a large number of short films in a wide variety of techniques and styles. The studio also created animations for television and school films. In 2003, The Secret of the Frogs was the first full-length film that brought the studio international fame. Folimage films have been shown successfully at festivals around the world and have received over 50 awards.

As part of an artist in residence program, two outside artists are given the opportunity to produce a film in the Folimage studio every year. In 1999 Folimage also founded the animation school "La Poudrière - Animated Film School", which is also based in Valence.
