Folke Johansson († March 3, 1277 ) was Archbishop of Sweden from 1274 to 1277 . He belonged to the noble family of the angels. His father was Johan Ängel.

Life

Folke Johansson was the first archdeacon in Gamla Uppsala . He campaigned for the relocation of the archbishopric from Gamla Uppsala to Aros, today's Uppsala . At the beginning of the 1270s he was appointed archbishop. He added eight more canons to the four existing canonicals and gave them a large part of his fortune.

Nothing is known about political activities. He crowned King Magnus Ladulås in 1276 . At the church assembly in Tälje under his leadership, which probably also took place in 1276, King Magnus issued the first major letter of privilege for the church.

He is buried in Uppsala Cathedral.
