Ford Stone House is a historic building near Elliston in Grant County , Kentucky .
The building was constructed around 1820, around the same time Grant County was emerging. The first owner, John Ford, had moved to Kentucky from Virginia in 1794 . The historical value of Ford Stone House stems from the fact that stone houses were rarely built in this less affluent region in the early 19th century.
Ford Stone House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 27, 1980 .
