Ford Tower
The Ford Tower was a 112 meter high, freestanding steel lattice tower in Cologne-Deutz , on the northeastern edge of the Rheinpark on Auenweg. The construction of triangular cross-section carried a half-timbered globe with the inscription Ford on its top . There were 400 steps to climb to the top. The tower was built in 1950/1951 and demolished in 1963.
In addition to the efforts of the KHD Group to see the landmark of a competitor in its immediate vicinity, the tower also stood in the way of the new zoo bridge .
