Forests and the European Union Resource Network
Forests and the European Union Resource Network (fern) is a European environmental organization based in Brussels , which is active in the field of forest policy of the European Union .
It was founded in 1995 by the World Rainforest Movement and coordinates a number of European networks of non-governmental organizations . FERN sees itself as an intermediary between NGOs and the EU. The organization observes European and international forest policy and informs other organizations and interests private individuals about important developments at EU level. The organization is also known for the publication of some studies on forest policy issues that other NGOs use, e.g. B. on questions of forest certification .
