Research institute for liberal professions

The Research Institute for Liberal Professions (FFB) was founded in November 1989 as an institute of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg . It is the first university institute in Europe devoted to research in the liberal professions . The institute has been headed by Joachim Merz since 1991 .

The professorship represents applied economic research with statistics and econometrics within the framework of empirically oriented economics and social science with a focus on liberal professions . In addition to Joachim Merz (economics, econometrics / statistics), Harald Herrmann (law, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg ) and Heinz Sahner ( empirical social research and general sociology, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg ) are on the board of directors of the Liberal Professions Research Institute ) on.

The FFB is a member of the Center for Research in Entrepreneurship, Professions and Small Business Economics (CREPS) - Structure and Dynamics ( Research Center for Entrepreneurship, Liberal Professions and Economics of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CREPS) - Structure and Dynamics).

Under the direction of Joachim Merz, the FFB publishes the electronic International Journal of Time Use Research (eIJTUR) and hosts the Research Network on Time Use (RNTU) on whose website this topic can be researched via a front-end with an information system .
