from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Research Institute for Gambling and Betting is a research institute in Bonn , which was founded in 2006 by Professors Franz Wilhelm Peren and Reiner Clement († 2017) from the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences , but operates in a private-sector organization independently of the university. The institute sees itself as a consulting company that deals with interdisciplinary scientific questions and reports on games of chance , betting and sports betting from an economic, legal, medical, psychological, social-scientific and mathematical point of view.

Tasks and projects

The institute sees its task in actively involving entrepreneurial or socio-political practice so that the contents of the institute can essentially be determined. The members of the advisory board jointly determine the research topics and content. Exclusive projects for individual members or for the industry are also possible. The aim is to combine entrepreneurial and socio-political practice with science and to institutionalize it in the form of a scientific institute.

Advisory Board

The members of the advisory board support the management of the research institute in its strategic orientation and in its research content. Practical research should be initiated by the members of the advisory board and developed and possibly published at regular forums in the science center of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft in Bonn. The members of the advisory board are mainly lawyers.
