Proteus research reactor

Proteus was a research reactor from the Paul Scherrer Institute . The plant was considered a zero power reactor , the maximum thermal power was 1 kW.

Construction started on June 1, 1965 and the IAEA states January 1, 1968 as the date of commissioning, while PSI speaks of February 1968. The reactor was decommissioned in April 2011 and decommissioning began.

During the 43 years of operation, there were 12 reportable incidents, but without any release of radioactivity or contamination.
