The research center for planning, traffic, technology and data protection law was a research institution located at the law faculty of the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen .
It was headed by Michael Ronellenfitsch , professor emeritus and Hessian data protection officer .
history
The railway-related tasks of the research center were initially carried out under the direction of Willi Blümels at the German Research Institute for Public Administration Speyer . In 2000 they were taken over by the research center. Until 2008 it was called the Research Center for Planning, Traffic and Technology Law .
tasks
The task of the research center was to conduct research in the legal areas of building planning law , specialist planning law (in particular in connection with the planning of roads, railways and air traffic law planning), traffic law and data protection law with their national and international implications. The research center continued to exist four years after Ronellenfitsch retired in April 2013.
Railway law conference
The conference Current Problems in Railway Law takes place annually. This was organized in Tübingen by the research center, the Federal Network Agency and the Federal Railway Authority . The series of conferences will be continued and will take place today in cooperation with the University of Regensburg.
The specialist audience comes from Germany and abroad. It consists, among other things, of executives from the authorities involved and other authorities, scientists, lawyers, representatives of infrastructure and transport companies and vehicle manufacturers. The speakers are also drawn from this group. The conference deals primarily with legal, but also political and technical issues. The conference contributions are published in the series of publications on planning, traffic and technology law under the title Current Problems of Railway Law .
