Willi Blümel

Willi Blümel (born January 6, 1929 in Dossenheim ; † August 22, 2015 ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Blümel studied law from 1948 at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and Cornell University . He passed his state exams in 1953 and 1957. His doctorate as Dr. iur. took place in 1960 at the University of Heidelberg. In 1960 and 1961 he was assistant to the court president Ernst Forsthoff at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Cyprus . In 1967 Blümel completed his habilitation for public law at the University of Heidelberg . In 1969/70 he was full professor for public law at the Free University of Berlin . In 1970 he moved to Bielefeld University and in 1974 to the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer . 1985–1987 he was also rector of DHV Speyer. From 1988 he was managing director of the affiliated research institute for public administration . Blümel's research interests were planning law , local law , university law and administrative procedural law . He was co-editor of Verwaltungsarchiv (magazine) . He was 85 years old.
