Research Foundation Bavarian History
The Research Foundation for Bavarian History promotes science and research in the field of Bavarian regional history at the chairs and professorships for regional history at Bavarian universities.
Character and legal status of the foundation
The institution was founded in 2003 by the Free State of Bavaria , represented by the State Ministry for Science, Research and Art , on the basis of private estate . It is a public foundation with legal capacity under civil law with its seat in Munich.
Heinrich von Leveling Prize
The foundation awards the Heinrich von Leveling Prize, named after Heinrich Palmatius von Leveling (1742–1798) , for outstanding research achievements in the field of Bavarian history .
