Forestry experimental and research institutes

The forestry experimental and research institutes (FVA) are the operational research institutions of the forest administrations . This means that, in contrast to the forestry faculties, the forestry experimental and research institutes are responsible for applied forestry research and, in particular, for forest monitoring. In this way, the German research institutes fulfill an indispensable mission, which serves to protect and research the forest ecosystem.
