Fort Stewart
Fort Stewart is a military base of the US Army . The base is in the state of Georgia near the city of Hinesville . The base is named after General Daniel Stewart , who fought with Francis Marion in the American Revolutionary War.
The Fort Stewart site extends over five counties with very extensive training and education facilities and is the largest military facility in CONUS of the Army east of the Mississippi . The base offers training and accommodation facilities for the around 50,000 reservists who pass through it every year.
Around 25,000 soldiers are permanently stationed at Fort Stewart . The base is one of the regional centers of the Hinesville – Fort Stewart metropolitan area .
