Training seminar for novice drivers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The advanced training seminar for novice drivers (FSF) was a paid training that was offered in some federal states of Germany and offered the opportunity to voluntarily reflect, consolidate and expand the knowledge and skills acquired in driving school lessons. The FSF was offered in driving schools that had a license to do so. The driving instructor had to have completed appropriate training in order to be able to offer his students an FSF. It could be used by novice drivers who had had a probationary class B driving license for at least six months .

As of 2011, this program was not extended.

It consisted of a theoretical part (3 group sessions of 90 minutes each) and a practical part (1 exercise and observation drive of 60 minutes and further practical safety exercises). The practical safety exercises (PSÜ) were carried out by specially trained moderators, mostly driving safety trainers from the German Road Safety Council (DVR). As a rule, they took place on traffic training grounds and usually lasted 240 minutes.

Participation in an FSF shortened the probationary period by one year. This also applied to suspicious novice drivers whose probationary period has already been extended by two years.

Novice drivers who had their first place of residence in the federal states of Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania or Schleswig-Holstein could not shorten the trial period by attending an FSF seminar. They could take part in the other countries, but this has no effect on the trial period.
