The Austrian Cultural Forum Paris ( ÖKF Paris , French Forum Culturel Autrichien ) is located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris at 17 avenue de Villars.
history
It was set up in 1954 as a platform for Austrian art, culture and science in France and aims to mediate between Austrian cultural workers as well as scientists and French partners. Contemporary forms of cultural expression are at the center of the ÖKF's commitment. The ÖKF Paris is part of the network of cultural forums of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs .
activity
The Austrian culture abroad, which is conceptually and organizationally designed by the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, aims to present and support innovation and creativity from Austria in the fields of art, culture and science abroad. The focus is on promoting contemporary forms of cultural expression .
The ÖKF Paris works to present Austria's international reputation as a modern, cosmopolitan and vibrant cultural nation and to promote cultural and scientific exchange in and with France. The thematic priorities for the years 2015 to 2018 are formulated as follows in the “International Culture Concept 2015-2018”: film and new media, architecture, dance, women in art and science and Austria as a location for dialogue.
The cooperation of the ÖKF Paris is supported by the networks of Austrian lecturers at 16 universities in France, the approx. 100 language assistants and the artist residency programs such as the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris . The ÖKF Paris is a member of the Association of International Cultural Institutes in Paris (FICEP) and the Association of National Cultural Institutes of the EU Member States ( EUNIC Paris).
Library
The ÖKF Paris has a library with around 33,000 media. In addition to borrowing books and DVDs, the library also offers Austria briefings for school and student groups.
