Forum Qualitative Social Research

The Forum Qualitative Sozialforschung (FQS) is a multilingual online journal for qualitative social research and the largest freely available online journal on qualitative processes in the world (published in so-called Open Access ).

Alignment

FQS is an interdisciplinary and international journal with articles that deal with qualitative processes, their theory , methodology and application. Articles are currently available in 3 languages ​​( English , German and Spanish ). In more recent editions, FQS also increasingly includes Internet-specific forms of publication such as video and sound recordings.

FQS special issues appear three times a year and deal with topics that are essential for qualitative research. In addition, there are selected individual contributions and contributions in four sections (FQS debates, FQS interviews, FQS reviews and FQS conferences)

history

FQS began in 1999 from more or less private initiatives and loose collaborations. The project has been funded by the German Research Foundation since mid-2001 and expanded into the information, communication and networking portal qualitative-research.net. Through the free availability and the bridging of discipline and language barriers, FQS contributes to the possibility of the free exchange of knowledge. The journal is implemented using the Open Journal Systems software .
